The Perfect Bride's Gown Checklist

The Perfect Bride's Gown Checklist

Before you shop:
Visualize your wedding. When? Where? How many? How much?
Start your search 9-12 months before the wedding. Look through magazines and check out websites. Tear out pictures of gowns that appeal to you.
Make an appointment at The Perfect Bride.

At your appointment:

You will probably want to bring your mom and/or a trusted friend. This is YOUR day and YOUR gown. Don’t feel like you need to bring your entire wedding party shopping. You will get at least that many opinions, and you will only end up confused.
Be prepared to talk about your wedding: the style, location, time of day, and, perhaps most importantly, your gown budget. You really don’t want to fall in love with a gown that will either break your heart or your budget.
Be sure you wear pretty undies, and please don’t come straight from the gym. Keep make-up and fragrance to a minimum.
* It’s perfectly ok to fall in love and buy the first dress you try on. Many brides feel they must visit every salon in town, but in the end, come back to that first dress. Did you keep looking after you fell in love with your fiancé?
The Ordering Process:

It’s best to order up if you’re unsure – we can always take the gown in. We can’t always let it out. Sizing in bridal fashions bears little resemblance to sizing in street clothes. Don’t be surprised if the size you need is larger than you were expecting.
We require a non-refundable 50% down-payment on your selection. The balance is due within 14 days of when we receive your gown.
* Alterations (anything we have to do to make the gown fit perfectly) are included on any full-price Bridal gown purchased at The Perfect Bride. Design changes are additional.
The Dress is here!
If you are able, you’ll want to come in and see your gown, once we have called you to let you know we have received it. Final payment will be expected then, if it hasn’t been made already.
We would like to start your alterations 6-8 weeks before the wedding. You can expect to have 3 fittings, with a final appointment for pick-up. Usually the day before the wedding. You’ll need your shoes, and any special undergarments for the first fitting.

Remember, we are here to help and answer any questions any time during regular store hours.

Now that you know the basics, relax, have fun and enjoy this magical time.
